Counselling and psychotherapy for individuals

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you direct bill to insurance providers?

We do not direct bill to insurance providers at this time.  Upon payment, you will be provided with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider. The good news is most insurance providers cover the services of Registered Social Workers (RSW)!

What is the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program?

We are now accepting Non-Insured Health Benefit (NIHB) clients.  The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program provides coverage for professional mental health counselling to complement other mental wellness services that may be available to clients or in communities. The program provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for benefits not available under other federal, provincial, territorial or private health insurance.

Every 12 months, an eligible client can receive up to 22 hours of counselling performed by an eligible provider. To be eligible for NIHB coverage, the client must provide their 10-digit registration (status) number at the time of booking.

For more information about the NIHB program, or to book your initial 60 minute assessment, please call us, text us or email us to set up an appointment.

How do I book appointments?

You can book virtual or in-person appointments easily by clicking one of the blue "Book a session"  buttons found on our website or be leaving us a voicemail, text message or sending us an email

When booking online, you will be re-directed to the Jane App Client Portal.  This is a great resource for clients and therapists alike because clients can book/reschedule/cancel their own appointments, have record of all their past and future appointments and much more.

Is there parking at your in-person office?  Is the office accessible?

There is paid/metered parking for $2/hr available in a parking lot just right of the building or street parking right in front of the building. Sessions are 50 minutes long, so parking for 1 hour should be enough time.

Unfortunately the building is not wheelchair accessible, however we do offer phone or video sessions through our virtual office.

The entrance to the office is at the front of the building, through the red door.  Please arrive to your appointment on time but no earlier than 5 minutes to protect your privacy and the privacy of the client before you.  If the red door is locked, please knock to let me know you have arrived.

Do you work with children?

Do you offer couples counselling?

We do not work with young children, but do see older teenagers (16+) from time to time.  The majority of our clients are 18+.  At this time, we are not working with couples.  This of course is subject to change and will be updated on the website.
